SHOOTOUT

The Shootout will follow the AGM.

Howard Mercer has withdrawn (preferring a fishing contest!) and there are a number of other qualifiers whose attendance is in doubt so we have decided to extend the cut off to those players on net 71 and better. This gives a reprieve to John McKiernan, Brian Douglas and last year’s winner Mike Andrew but will ensure there are players to eliminate from the first hole.

The qualifiers are:

NORTH ISLAND STROKE PLAY – 14-16 SEPTEMBER

Thanks to all the volunteers who helped at this event. Starters, spotters, referees and our photographer all played a part in making the three-day tournament another success for our club.

Playing our 9th hole in a sudden death play off both players scored 3’s at the first attempt before Charlie won with a 3 while Jang Hyun three putted as they played the hole the second time.

Selin Hyun (South Korea) went into the final round with a 6 stroke advantage over Ayean Cho (Sherwood Park) in the Women’s tournament and despite Ayean shooting a 68 on Saturday Selin’s 72 was enough to take the title on 281.
