Fortunately, the weather gods felt sorry for the players after an hour and the sun shone through for the rest of the day.

Ladies 36-Hole Pennant report from Dianne Norris:

Unfortunately, Whangaroa chose not to postpone our pennants on Monday and there were definitely a few unhappy 36-hole players.

Merle Mounsey and Iris Bartlett won in the morning but lost in the afternoon and Jan Williams and myself won in the morning, Jan had a draw and I lost in the pm, so only 5 points against Sherwood Park. We all found our wet weather gear not to be particularly waterproof!

Also, the March scratchy raffle was won by Alison Taylerson. Thank you to all that supported it and there will be another one for April sometime next week.

Last but not least, it was with regret that we received the word from Alan Smithyman that he will be retiring this year.
He and Karen have plans to buy a camper and travel NZ.
His last day is in July and we wish him all the best.
Meantime he is working hard as ever on our course.
