FRIDAY HAGGLE – Men’s Jack Cheevers Shield Competition – Best 15 Friday Stableford Scores over the Winter season.

After today’s round John Halse on 555 has had his lead of 17 whittled by 3 points to 14 points by, The Chaser, Neil Stokes who is now on 541 and moved in to 2nd place pushing Kevin Stewart out to 3rd who is on 540 points.

It was a chilly start to the day and a cold shower of rain at 10.30am brought a few players back to the club for an early lunch. Some were so cold they forgot to sign their cards so their results weren’t counted!! (Sorry Pete and John)

Today’s haggle winners were Norm McLeod 40 (Go Norm!!!), Lorraine Stokes 39, Neil Stokes 38, Graeme Wright 35, Gary Forrest, Gary Batey, Kevin Stewart and Mick Jones 34. Pam. Hidden Holes were 7 & 8 were struck by Norm McLeod, Graeme Wright and Bob Crawley. No Twos again this week.

FRIDAY HAGGLE – Men’s Jack Cheevers Shield Competition – Best 15 Friday Stableford Scores over the Winter season.

After today’s round John Halse has increased his lead to 10 with 537 points from Kevin Stewart who remains on 527 points, Neil is still on 525 points and Marsh 521 points. A very small field indeed today, which was probably due to a wet course and No carts but the hardy ones managed to put together some solid results.

Today’s haggle winners were Jimmy Whitehorn and Dave MacNee 41, Kevin Strawbridge 38. Hidden Holes were 10 & 15 No strike, Jackpot! No Twos as well!

I don’t know what’s going on out there but today, positions have changed! John Halse has taken the lead with 532 points from Kevin Stewart who is on 527 points, Neil is still on 525 points and Marsh is coming back in to play with 521 points. It’s anyone’s game at the moment!

Neil is leading on 525 from new player in the mix Kevin Stewart who has quietly crept up to be in the top 3 with 523 points putting Marsh in 3rd place with 512 points and pushing John Roberts to 4th place.

Today’s haggle winners were Jimmy Whitehorn 41, Graeme Wright 39, Steve Schlendering 36, Rob Green, Peter Langerak, Roger Toplis 35 and Mike Kane 34. Hidden Holes were 10 & 12 which were struck by John Roberts and Marsh Tua. There was only one two by Dave MacNee (9).

Winners of the Diggers Competition for 2018 are Mick Jones and Neil Stokes who had to play hard to beat Malcolm Finlayson and Ross Miller on the 20th hole and the Consolation winners were Clint Brljevich and Scott McClelland who beat Grant Hastings and Peter Baugh.

The alternate haggle winner was Dave Scott with 43 points and Neil Stokes struck the Hidden Holes 6 & 7. There were no twos.

FRIDAY HAGGLE – Men’s Jack Cheevers Shield Competition – Best 15 Friday Stableford Scores over the Winter season.

Watch out Neil! Marsh is back and tracking you! Neil is leading on 518 from Marsh who is on 507 points. John Roberts is still 3rd on 493 points.

Today was the Monthly Medal round and Peter Langerak topped the field with a Nett 67! Well done Peter. He was followed by Rob Green 70, Iris Bartlett, Steve Schlendering, Peter Jarvis 72, Karon Stewart and Marsh Tua 73. Iris Bartlett had the only two of the day at No. 10. Hidden Holes 15 & 16 was struck by Elaine Trivett, Steve Schlendering and Peter Langerak.

BOI 4 Course Classic

206 players played in this event over the above 3 days. The mornings were cold but conditions were great. All players enjoyed playing our course with many saying they intend to come back and play the course again. Over two of the days we were able to run two raffles to raise extra funds for the club, thank you Mick for doing that. Thanks must go to Alan and Scott for their early 6am starts over these days to get the course ready, Alex and his staff for also being here 7am each day to provide carts, trundlers and balls for the warm-up area to players, Clint and staff for having food available from 8am each day, Richard Parmee, Eric Heap (spotting), Neil Stokes and Dianne Norris (card collection).

Next year ParNZ have asked to have the event during the week starting 6 May and plan to have 250 players entered!


Saturday 2 June
: Mixed Club Day – Postponed.

(The club house will be closed for a wedding).
