Waitangi Golf Club - the home of the 2014 Freyberg Masters
The club has applied for and won the opportunity to host the 2014 Men’s Freyberg Masters here in November.
The date has not been officially set yet but it is definitely November and it is coming!!!!
What is the Freyberg Masters? I hear you say….The Lion Foundation Freyberg Masters is a special event for its competition but more importantly its camaraderie.
A total of 15 teams from the districts all around NZ come together for the over 40s Match Play contest.
A team consists of 5 male amateur golfers and the course is required for 7 days while this event is on.
Congratulations to Dave Scott for the successful application and thanks must also go to Carrington GC, Whangaroa GC,
Golf Northland, FNDC and Copthorne BOI Hotel and Resort for supporting our application.
The Greens Development Committee are now in the process of setting up a project completion plan to get our course up to play.
This event is another great opportunity to showcase our course, club, Bay of Islands and Northland.
